Shipplotter has the function to permit sharing of data. This can be done several ways.
Selecting the Sharing setup.
Sharing with the shipplotter server
Many shipplotter users share with the COAA server.
The settings to share with COAA would be like above.
It is important to enable sharing like indicated above. This will have to be done each time you start the program to make sharing work.
There is great global coverage with the COAA server. The more people that join, the better the coverage gets.
Some areas have excellent coverage, others do not.
Sharing with AISGR
The sharing settings for AIS Greece are similar. If you want to share with us then it is as easy as that. We will provide the settings if you ask us by email. Then when you connect for the first time, let us know and we will authorise your connection. Then you will see our ships also on your shipplotter screen. We only are interested to share with people in Greece region and if you are covering areas which we already cover then there is no point to share.
Sharing in the UK
If you are in the UK then you will want to share with the AIS Liverpool community. They have really excellent coverage for their region. Its really a great effort by all the members.
Sharing to Siitech WebVTS Lite
Siitech have a free software application on the net which quite a few users are sharing to. There is a howto for shipplotter users here. The VTS Lite is accessed here.
