The above image gives an idea about the distances to targets. The rings indicate 30 nautical miles where the signal is generally good and up to 60nm where transmissions are received periodically and the data may be incomplete. The range is not guaranteed though and depends on many factors. It is not guaranteed all vessels will be identified within the 30nm area. There may be some blind spots.
